N1 Pictures

A collection of N1 pics

Pictures from the launch of the N1

The (Aeropac) N1 is approximatly 22 feet tall, weighs 230lbs loaded, and has 3 stages. Stage 1 has 6 K10050’s and 24 G35’s. Stage 2 has 8 H124’s and Stage 3 has 4 H124’s for a total of 42 motors. All motors lit successfully, but there were 2 CATO’s (1 K, 1 H). The motor failures didn’t seem to disturb the flight, however.  2 GWiz LC’s were used for 2nd stage staging, and a Missle Works WRC was used for 3rd stage staging. Each stage had 2 GWiz LC’s for redundant recovery, except stage 3, which used 1 GWiz LC for recovery, backed up by the Missle Works WRC. The N1 acheived approximatly 1650 feet altitude, but none of the parachutes fully opened.
